Architectural willpower:

“So close to the ocean, and on the way to the holidays, we sought to enhance this site by evoking strong and positive themes such as: wind, sun, sea; architecture of canopies, in the shape of wings, sails (sun – wind – sea), metal masts, halyards, flags (wind – sea sounds), wooden cladding panels (sea – shipbuilding, marinas), “green-water” glazing (sea).

Thanks to the continuous daily and nocturnal animation, as well as the circulations which are displayed on the north facade, it becomes, on the city side, the permanent showcase of the Centre’s activities.

The large dimensioned public esplanade in the east constitutes a major urban challenge, and commensurates with the Townhall’s ambitions for the Avenue de Fréville”.

the Centre’s genuine position with the connection to the Townhall’s other commercial facilities is restored thanks to the dusting of the east and south facades, their new treatment in the continuity of the materials and aspects chosen for the new parts, and the rehabilitation of a  pedestrian square worthy of that name, that extends them.

The facade cladding that we propose is made of composite panels with a wide possible variety of natural wood cladding. We chose it because it is light, and can be used to close car park, restaurant or hotel spandrels. It is also used as a light cladding for existing cellular concrete facades.

Wood, metal and glass will be used and installed according to the latest technological advances.”
