Didier Rossi, Head of the Fluids Department:

What does your job entail precisely?

I manage an integrated team within the Design Office. We are responsible for the heating / air conditioning / plumbing / fire protection / environmental and thermal calculations work packages.

The Fluids Department contributes its expertise in the field of renewable energies in order to propose the most effective, optimal options for the customer, from an economic and ecological point of view.

Our software and the expertise of our engineers enable us to design eco-responsible buildings that take into account all their specific features, in order to minimise or even eliminate flows, in buildings with the least possible equipment and consumption. We take into account summer and winter comfort, carbon footprint and daylight quality, among other factors.

At BEG Ingénierie, we go beyond regulations, because we believe that our customers have a major stake in limiting future investments and energy consumption.

So, for example, we may recommend that you don’t use air conditioning if you don’t need to.

Amélie, who recently joined the team to work on the environmental calculations, brings us a pragmatic and relevant approach thanks to her expertise in concrete operations, her environmental awareness and her ability to analyse the calculations from a technical point of view.

Everyone involved needs to understand the importance of eco-design. We work with architects who understand this.

What are the major market expectations?

Expectations are high because of rising energy costs and regulations (the tertiary sector decree for the renovation of existing buildings and thermal and environmental regulations for new buildings). Project owners are therefore integrating a virtuous approach and facing financial constraints.

With the ZAN Law (zero net artificialisation), there are major challenges in terms of the renovation of buildings. Our mission is to find the best solutions for improving existing facilities and to simulate the return on investment.

New buildings become pilot projects where we can test new solutions that are as green as possible. We control the entire project.

What added-value is offered by BEG Ingénierie?

Our answers are relevant. BEG Ingénierie has an on-board Design Office and a Business Department that propose technical solutions that are guaranteed to be feasible. We will never propose solutions that are not feasible afterwards or that will have a negative impact on other trades. After the audit, our Project Management Department is also able to carry out a project management assignment.

What is it you like about BEG Ingénierie?

I’ve been with BEG Ingénierie for over 11 years. I love the diversity of the projects. What’s more, I’m particularly excited about the exciting challenges we now face in terms of innovation. The projects have real quality at stake and environmental challenges they face, which pushes us to look for the most appropriate innovations (provided that the customer accepts the innovation), with real added value.
